Shadow Yoga & Hatha Yoga Immersions, andy and maya
Shadow Yoga is a unique style of Hatha Yoga that is taught through three fixed, standing forms. It is best for those new to the practice to begin with the Basics class. Immersions are only open to drop-ins the first two weeks of the month or by prior arrangement. For more information visit our Shadow Yoga page.
For the Balanced Meditation Practice please join us as we Embrace our Yin Body in Still Meditation and our Yang Body in Moving Meditation. This class is a combination of still meditation and moving meditation. The practice will help adjust the body’s tissues and physical structure to promote the regulation and circulation of essence, energy, spirit and blood. The goal is to purge, tonify and regulate the body for well being. Allow your channels to open.
Restorative Candle-Lit, sage
flier
A relaxing class for all levels of yoga students. This class will be mostly floor poses with some standing asanas to help calm the nervous system and relax the mind. There will also be some breathwork throughout the class to facilitate more restoration. This is the perfect class to wind down from the week and to set the tone for the week to come, amongst candles and fellow yogis.
This therapeutic-style class comes from the ViniYoga tradition and is safe for anyone to attend. The breath inspires the entire sequence through small vinyasas and deepening particular poses. Each class offers a combination of asanas, pranayama, and small meditations holding space for each student to learn more about where their body wants to evolve. The classes are carefully sequenced to help the students learn how to transform the neuro-muscular patterns in their body into a more relaxed state. The beauty of these classes is that any yogi can make the class as challenging or restorative as they like, since there are many ways to adapt each pose.
In this vinyasa/flow based class enjoy a flowing, vibrant and engaging practice. This class incorporates the principles of Yoga Tune Up® (experiential and embodied anatomy, structural alignment, postural integrity, massage therapy balls) with the dynamics of a vinyasa flow class all the while bringing more alignment and awareness to your body. Come prepared to shed your old habits, have fun, be challenged and walk away with a new awareness of your body.
Exploring Asana, michelle
Combining sun salutations, vinyasa flows, and yin yoga, this class will connect you with your breath to allow prana (vital energy) to flow throughout your body. The goal is to find your “asana” or seat within each posture, creating awareness, strength and flexibility that can hopefully translate on and off the mat. The first part of class focuses on movement to get your mind and muscles warmed up, while the second half focuses on a quieter practice, yin yoga, that releases tension stored in connective tissues. Yin poses are held for 3-5 minutes and will leave you feeling open, focused, and totally relaxed.
